"I've seen significant changes in the students," said Natalie Kaharick, Yes + teacher from New Orleans. "They're a lot happier and their eyes are so much brighter after taking the course."
New comers as well as veterans of the course are thrown into an intense detoxification of stress and removal of clutter from the mind.
"It's always physically and mentally demanding," said Frances Arnold, president of the Art of Living club at the University of Nevada, Reno. "But it gives who ever takes the course more clarity of the mind, more confidence and less stress."
The course lasted 6 days in which participants were taught Sudarshan Kriya, a breathing technique that's helps relieve stress and clean one's mind and other stress relieving techniques. Participants also did group exercises, which helped strengthen friendship and relationship building skills.
"At first, I was like that's a lot of hours to do the course, but I was super happy that I came to the course," said Lara St. John, a Health Ecology junior. "Hopefully my stress levels will get a lot better as I take what I learned from the course into my everyday life."
