A Free Education

Most college students come to appreciate the notion of "free," particularly when the tuition bill comes in the mail. But what if you could get that college education for free?

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Open Courseware is an online project with the goal of providing the masses with education for free. Professional lesson plans with outlined recommended reading and recommended assignment across 1800 courses have already been put up, with more to be added.

The topics of study include a variety of disciplines ranging from engineering to liberal arts. The only catch is that the material is only useful for someone who's self-motivated to learn it on their own. And no, it doesn't appear that you can get a degree with this information alone, but to the hobbyist or the student looking for a second opinion, it's definitely a resource worth looking into.
